Center for Social Justice Opening this Week

Charlotte Bunch, an activist, author and organizer in the women's, civil and human rights movements for four decades, will be the featured speaker Thursday, Nov. 19, at the launch of the newly established Center for Social Justice, a new and innovative program established in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program of the University of Oklahoma College of Arts and Sciences.

The event, featuring Bunch, who also is the founding director and Senior Scholar at the Center for Women's Global Leadership at Rutgers University, is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Beaird Lounge, Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave.

The Center for Social Justice was formed to inspire, educate and engage students in social justice issues and to respond to the urgent need to prepare students for pressing local and global challenges.
