PLAN YOUR CLASS SCHEDULE

• Get a copy of the degree check sheet for your major.
• Divide the total number of credit hours needed for your degree by 4. The answer is the number of credit hours you need to take each year to graduate in four years.
  • For example: 120 credit hours / 4 years = 30 credit hours per year

• Using that number and the model four-year degree plan for your major (available at the College of Arts & Sciences Academic Services Office), work out a schedule of the classes you will take over a four-year period. Remember that you can use intersession, summer and online classes as a way to reduce the number of classes you need to take during the fall and spring semesters.
  
• Before enrolling each semester, meet with your academic adviser to verify your graduation plan and make adjustments as needed.
  
• Don't change majors! Try to settle on ONE major by the end of your third semester. If you can't decide on an offered major, you can always design your own major with the help of Academic Services. A major made for you, by you! Also, visit OU's annual Majors/Minors Fair held every February to learn more about your options.
  
• Enroll early to ensure you get into the classes you need.
  
• Complete all of the classes in which you are enrolled.


• Don't change majors. A good rule to follow is to settle on a major by the end of your third semester.


• You can design your own major! If you can't graduate in your chosen major, ask an advisor in Hobson Academic Services to help you design a major you can graduate in.
  
• After you have earned 90 hours, get a degree check from the College of Arts & Sciences Hobson Academic Services Office.
  
• At the beginning of your last semester get a graduation check and file an application for graduation with the College of Arts & Sciences Academic Services Office. Sign onto iAdvise to make appointments at the Hobson Academic Services Center.

PLAN YOUR FINANCES

• Determine you annual cost of going to OU by using the Tuition Estimator, or do the following:
• Determine the approximate education cost per year by multiplying the current cost for tuition and fees times the number of hours required per year to graduate in 4.

• Add the approximate amount you will spend on books
• Add the cost of room and board.
