Environmental Ethics to be Discussed

Associate Dean Ed Sankowski will chair discussion on Tuesday, March 29

How do citizens, activists, industry leaders and policy-makers come to a mutual agreement on issues that affect our environment? Three panelists will present their ideas on the issues of environmental ethics at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 in Ellison Hall 132.

A wide range of issues will be addressed by the panelists, who include Deborah Dalton, professor and director of Interdisciplinary Perspectives on the Environment; Zev Trachtenberg, associate professor of philosophy; and Linda Wallace, professor of botany. Ed Sankowski, associate dean of the college and professor of philosophy will chair the symposium.

This is one in a series of Ethics and Public Life Symposia that the college has sponsored. Previous discussions on ethics have involved ethics in business, held in conjunction with the Price College of Business, and ethics in healthcare, with panelists from OU's Health Science Center and the American Medical Association.
