A&S Hits the Road

and current students are coming to a city near you!

Stressing the importance of a liberal arts education and supporting the campaign for scholarships, members of the College of Arts and Sciences will make appearances at functions in Fort Worth, Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Dallas.

Kicking off their four-city tour in Fort Worth, Dean Bell and college faculty members will discuss the state of the college, along with the campaign for scholarships recently launched by President Boren. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Fort Worth Club on Monday, Jan. 9.

Merv Johnson, color commentator for the OU Sooners football team and director of football operations, will join the A&S crew in Tulsa. Johnson will speak on the difference higher education made in his life and the importance of higher education in today's society. The presentation will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Doubletree Hotel Warren Place.

In Oklahoma City, J. Clifford Hudson, president, CEO and chairman of Sonic Corp., will address friends of the college on how his academic preparation at OU helped him prepare for a successful life. The evening's events will be held at the Marriott on Northwest Expressway beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Rounding out the tour on Thursday, Feb. 16, Dean Bell and faculty members will visit the Park Cities Club in Dallas to discuss the state of the college and the campaign for scholarships.
