2006 A&S Student Awards Ceremony

The College of Arts and Sciences will hold its seventh annual A&S Student Awards Ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 27 in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom at the Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave. Students receiving awards have been sent invitations and instructions for the ceremony.

Each spring, the departments and schools in the college submit lists of their award recipients to the dean's office and each recipient is sent a personal invitation. Faculty, staff, friends and family also are invited to join us at the annual ceremony to honor our outstanding students.

Included in the invitation sent out is a white sheet of paper with the student's name, the name of the award and the department granting the award. Also on the sheet are instructions for students wishing to participate. Award recipients are asked to meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Regents' Room on the third floor of OMU. They will proceed to the ballroom in alphabetical order.

Beginning at 4 p.m., the recipients will enter the ballroom. Dean Paul B. Bell Jr. will address the attendees. Assistant Dean Joyce Allman will read the award recipients' names and awards as they proceed across the stage, receive their certificates and return to their seats.
