American Humanics is a national alliance of universities and nonprofit organizations offering an innovative course of study that equips college and university students to become skilled professionals and leaders in America's nonprofit organizations.

Young Kim, professor of communication, received the International Communication Association's Intercultural/International Division's Top Scholar Award for Lifetime Achievement. The award was presented at the International Communication Association's annual meeting in Dresden, Germany, in June. She is the third recipient of this prestigious award.
