Description:
Prerequisite: 3003, 3013, 3043, and 4013.
This is the capstone course for the Human Relations undergraduate curriculum. Group work, evaluative discussion, independent research and written reflections are integral parts of the course. Each student is required to complete 40 hours for the service learning project in an assigned setting and work constructively with other students and personnel in the field. Students apply learning from previous courses to a service learning project. The service-learning that takes place will be grounded in relevant HR literature in theory research and practice. The challenge for students is to translate formal classroom knowledge into useful forms in community settings and display relevant material in a portfolio.
Format: A portfolio assignment, online/ class discussions, and online mini-lectures/ assignments such as the intercultural paper
