Our goal is to provide helpful materials for students taking online courses offered by the College of Arts and Sciences.
Online Orientation
Purpose:
The purpose of the online orientation is to ensure that students are well prepared both technically and practically to take online courses.
Contents:
The online orientation consists of several parts:
- Getting started;
- making the most of learning online;
- managing technology;
- writing and research online; and
- understanding the course management system.
Every student enrolled in an online course through the College of Arts and Sciences must self-register for the CAS Online Orientation.
If this is the first time you have taken an online course you will need to complete the Orientation.
If you have previously completed the online orientation required by the College of Arts and Sciences OR you have successfully completed an online course using Desire2Learn offered through the College of Arts and Sciences you will need to answer the Declaration Questionnaire located in the Orientation. |
Deadline for completion of orientation:
All sections of the orientation should be completed by 5:00 PM on Friday of the first week of your online class. Note that all times are Central Time.
If you enroll late, please complete the online orientation as soon as possible.
Steps to complete the orientation:
- Log on to Desire2Learn - http://learn.ou.edu - using your 4+4 and your OU network password. For assistance with your log on information, visit Information Technology's website to read more about them.
- Self-register for the CAS Online Orientation Course.
- Complete the orientation.
